405 / 101 Split At Rush Hour

Visitors constantly complain about LA traffic. They ask “how can you stand it?” I don’t even notice any more. It’s a fact life like humidity and mosquitoes on the east coast. I put up with it because the weather is good the view is nice and it suits me. LA may not be your cup of tea but I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to convince me that I should hate it.

Thalberg Building At Xmas

This Art Deco building built in 1938 was dedicated to Irving Thalberg - The Boy Wonder of Hollywood who was head of production for MGM at the age of 23. Now it is home to the executive offices for Sony Pictures Studios and Columbia Pictures.

Hollywood Cowboys

At certain times of the year I drive down Cahuenga Blvd just as the sun is setting. I often notice the shadow of this giant cowboy silhouette, which resides on top of the Laser Pacific building, projected on the wall of the Ren Mar studios across the street. www.flickr.com/photos/puck90/1411523354/in/photostream/

Many times I thought about taking a photo of it. I finally did.

A Laser Pacific employee who was loitering outside the building told me that these cutouts were on rooftops all over Hollywood. I haven’t noticed any others. I sense a project coming on…..

Fish

This is Fish. Fish is the sweetest dog in the world - part chow - part something else. Fish belongs to Joel, a multi talented performer, writer, director and producer. Joel is also a pretty good poker player…but that won’t stop me from taking his money on Thurs night.

This is Smalldogs AKA Susan Sabo, a Long Beach based photographer who does fabulous work.
